TEACHER


Since a young child in elementary school, Chaz Fautch has continued to contribute as a teacher. At age 8 he was nominated to be a member of Care Club and later a Peer Tutor in his school, where he helped with special needs education, conflict management, and peer leadership initiatives.

He first began teaching piano when he was 15 years old and has been teaching ever since. Spanning all ages, cultures, and international origins, he’s taught students as young as 4 years old and as senior as 84. He’s been proud of his ability to understand the interests, motivations, and goals of his students. He believes working with parents and families is the first step to ensuring a successful learning outcome. Since every parent and every student has varying goals, he invests considerable effort in identifying the best pathway and tailoring short-term assignments to meet long-term goals.

His students have won competitions spanning the U.S. Open International Music Competition, American Protégé Music Competition, Elite International Music Competition, Minnesota Music Teachers Association Competition, and more. Students have performed at Carnegie Hall and accepted to several acclaimed music schools. They’ve excelled in both solo and chamber music performances and accompanying.

Chaz has taught students and trained teachers on the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music Exams. Including the Practical, Performance Grades, Theory, and ARSM examinations. His own students consistently receive highest marks of Distinction and Merit and Chaz has had the highest number of Distinction and Merit scores among all faculty at his most recent teaching position.
